Delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran visited MGSU
Representatives of the Islamic Republic of Iran visited MGSU on March 2, 2023. During the visit, issues of promising industry cooperation, as well as issues of interaction in various fields of joint activity were discussed.
The delegation was represented by the President of Pars University of Architecture and Art in Iran prof. Mahmood Golabchi, Vice President of the Faculty of Architecture and professor at Iran University of Science and Technology Dr. Mehdi Khakzand, Vice President of Tehran Architect Association Dr. Haji Babaei, Board member of Isfahan House of Industry, Mining and Trade Eng. Reza Chini and the Chairman of the Modiriat Tejarat Pars Karen Alireza Jafari. MGSU was represented by Rector Pavel Akimov, Honorary President Valery Telichenko, Vice-Rector Vera Galishnikova, Deputy Rector Natalia Zhelanova, Vice-Rector Armen Ter-Martirosyan and specialized experts of the university.
Rector Pavel Akimov stated that it was a great honor for MGSU to host a delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran. He notes that MGSU has tight integration with the construction industry and thanked the Iranian delegation for the proposal to create a platform for cooperation between Russia and Iran on the basis of MGSU. The head of the delegation Alireza Jafari highlighted that despite relatively close cooperation, our countries know little about each other's potential and have poor understanding of each other's scientific and technical capabilities and trade potential. He expressed hope for further fruitful cooperation.

Later that day the delegation visited the educational and scientific laboratory for aerodynamic and aeroacoustics tests and the “Geothechnics” educational and scientific center.
Moreover, the Iranian guests delivered two lectures for MGSU students. Professor Mahmood Golabchi made a presentation on "Architecture of Iran"; he shared the history of architecture of Iran and interesting details about the ways of erecting and using buildings at different times in Iran. Dr. Mehdi Khakzand gave a talk on the "Digital Landscape"; he spoke about the development of architecture, modern possibilities of using technologies in architecture and construction. Students were very impressed and showed great interest.
As a result of the visit, both parties expressed readiness for further cooperation and strengthening of Russian-Iranian relations.
